Growing up in a small town of Adel, Daphane loved experimenting in the kitchen.  One of her favorite things to make as a little girl was M&M cookies.  The more M&M's the better....she thought!

Daphane loved baking for large groups of people!  In fact, one of her fondest moments was spending time with her grandma in the kitchen the day before Christmas.  She would take the step stool & scoot it as close to the counter as she could get, watching her grandma make toffee, cookies, etc.  She soon learned the love that came from working long hours in the kitchen, preparing sweet treats for her loved ones.

Soon after, Daphane would find herself competing in the first Iowa State Fair.  Taking home numerous ribbons over 17 years was a huge accomplishment.  After 17 years, Daphane decided that it was time to expand her love for baking!  In 2015, Stop & Smell the Flours was created!

Stop & Smell the Flours is a licensed & insured bakery in Kelley, Iowa. From cupcakes & cookies, to pies & cakes, to bars & cheesecakes....we have a wide variety of sweet treats in a variety of flavors.  All of our sweet treats are freshly made, never frozen.
